Yesterday I spent a fun afternoon catching up with a dear friend at Rabbit – the newest vegetarian cafe in town. We were beyond excited to see for ourselves what delightful, healthy treats were in store!
From the moment we entered, we felt right at home. The decor features plenty of natural wood and succulent plants, all making for an earthy, cozy, creative vibe. You can choose from indoor or outdoor seating, both of which are sunny and spacious.
We sat inside and started with a coffee and strawberry milkshake, before ordering our mains. My friend went with the unique D.I.Y. menu and chose Creamy Mushrooms & Seeded Sourdough while I chose the Roast Parsnip Banh Mi. The creamy mushrooms were delicious and juicy, with a warm coconut-y flavour, and my Banh Mi was just as tasty! With faux goie, sticky soy sauce, carrots, bean sprouts and toasted peanuts, the meal was perfectly flavoured and full of crunch.
For dessert we shared the French Toast. This was made with dark chocolate banana, chopped nuts, whipped coconut cream and chia seeds. It was sweet without being too sugary, chocolate-y without being too rich, and overall a very enjoyable dish. I only wished that the ‘toast’ was more crunchy.
The best thing about eating vegetarian food, for me, is that it always leaves me feeling full, but light – and this was no exception. With such a great variety of food & drinks, friendly service, and pleasant, welcoming atmosphere, we would certainly recommend Rabbit for vegetarians and omnivores alike!
