“We are mosaics – pieces of light, love, history, stars glued together with magic and music and words.” Anita Krizzan
Hello there! My name is Sophia. I grew up in Auckland, NZ, where I currently live on the North Shore, but I have also lived in our amazing capital, Wellington – a city that will always have my heart.
I’m passionate about many things: minimalism, spirituality, volunteering, finance, reading, writing, candle-making, holistic & conscious living, and of course, photography!
I fell in love with photography when I bought myself a Canon camera five years ago and started a food blog while I was living in Wellington. For four years I reviewed restaurants, cafes and bars across Auckland and Wellington, as well as Melbourne and London. It was a lot of fun and combined my love for photography and food with my love for writing. Along the way, I also got to meet fellow foodies at blogger events for Zomato, like a gorgeous high tea at Waipuna Hotel and a cocktail masterclass at Hilton Hotel’s Bellini Bar. I loved reviewing beauty products, too, but started making my own natural, organic skincare when I became a minimalist.
Just before I made the life-changing decision to move back to Auckland, serendipity gave me a wonderful opportunity. A colleague of mine wanted to pursue a career in modeling, and I wanted to pursue one in photography. So I invited her over to my apartment, where I covered my sofa bed with a white duvet cover and faced it towards the sunlight. We did a boudoir photoshoot that was sexy, but elegant, with the bright, clean, light and airy style I already knew I loved. It was my very first photoshoot and still one of my favourites to date.
Since then, my photography work has expanded to all kinds of special occasions, including weddings, engagements, parties, and graduations. I stay true to my creative style because I’m a minimalist at heart, who loves capturing joy and authenticity. I would love to capture these moments for you!
