Hi friends,

I hope you’re having a fantastic weekend! It’s been a long month, so I was truly looking forward to this one – a four day weekend thanks to annual leave. My fiancé and I were travelling up to Matakana to attend a friend’s wedding, and thought, why not stay longer?

We attended the wedding on Thursday, a beautiful wedding ceremony at The Stables that continued into a wild and wonderful wedding reception on a night full of delicious food, lots of bubbly, music and dancing. A perfect night of celebrating the bride & groom’s love. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Cornwall! ❤

Here’s what we got up to on our mini weekend getaway, post-wedding..

Mondays (11)

Today I took my fiancé to one of my favourite healthy cafes, Mondays Wholefoods in Kingsland. Featuring a covered courtyard overflowing with natural greenery, the cafe is warm and welcoming; the perfect spot for a relaxed lunch. We enjoyed their Mondays Benedict with organic pullet eggs, whole potato rosti, wilted greens, vegan hollandaise & parsley pistou, adding bacon & mushrooms, and their Ambrosia Waffles – buckwheat waffles with coconut ambrosia, berries, vegan meringue & toasted coconut. These were complemented by coconut milk hot chocolate & emerald (matcha) latte. Our lunch was wonderful in every way – friendly service, calm atmosphere, and of course, delicious food. Our highlight was the soft, creamy sweetness and subtle berry flavour of the ambrosia, and the earthy, wholesome flavour of the buckwheat waffles.

A lover of natural, rustic chic spaces, I found inspiration in their natural autumn colours, bohemian style cushions, teapots & essential oils on their shelves, some luminous citrine (my favourite healing crystal), and even some floral styling wedding inspiration. If you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a moment of calm, good food and nature, Mondays is the perfect place for a cosy meal.

Love,

Sophia

Our Cosy Wellington Getaway

Food, Lifestyle, Personal

Hi friends, I hope you’re having a wonderful and relaxing Easter weekend!

Last weekend, my fiancé and I went on a little weekend getaway to my favourite city and second home: our capital, Wellington, New Zealand. We stayed two and a half days, which while short was plenty of time for us to see an incredible exhibition, eat delicious food, rest and recharge, and simply enjoy each other’s company. The purpose of our trip was to see the Terracotta Warriors at Te Papa Museum and celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. Happy Birthday, my love!

Food | What We Ate in Melbourne

Food, Lifestyle, Personal

Last month, my partner and I spent an amazing week in our favourite city – Melbourne, Australia.. Where we got engaged!!

Aside from this incredibly exciting news, another highlight of our time in Melbourne was, unsurprisingly, the food! Today I’d love to share with you some of the places we visited and warmly recommend.

My year-long lesson in failure, success, & self love

Lifestyle, Personal

Yesterday I woke up to some brilliant news. My phone rang the moment I hopped out of bed; a moment of divine synchronicity. On the other end: a job offer!!!

It was the light at the end of a tunnel that had seemed to go on for a long time. You see, this is more than just a job offer to me.

For many people, a new job isn’t that hard to get. Even for me, a new job wasn’t that hard to get – it always only took a month or two. That is, until this year.

Manifesting My Dream Life

Hi friends,

I hope you’re all having a fantastic week! Mine has been wonderful, following a weekend at the Cherry Blossom Festival in the Waikato, then going to a friend’s cosy birthday dinner. We also visited my partner’s parents – where, much to my joy, I got to take some beautiful cherry blossoms home. Our house now feels very special and sentimental: handmade candles made by me, a handmade wooden shelf made by my partner, and homegrown cherry blossoms from his parents. I even bought some pohutukawa flowers to decorate and I couldn’t be happier!

This Monday was absolutely perfect. My day was nothing special, but consisted of everything that is, for me, synonymous with simplicity, joy, and pure bliss:

I woke up mid-morning, around 10am. I ate a real breakfast, admired my fresh flowers, and worked on my photography. I went out and picked up new candle jars & fragrances, then shopped for organic food & essential oils.

In the evening, I came home to realise that I was living the life I had always wanted – and that I had manifested it all.

Let me explain. When I got home, my heart was feeling so full that I remember wishing I could bottle up some of my happiness and save it for a rainy day. I was recalling all the things that had made my day so wonderful, when something hit me: it somehow sounded very familiar. Could it be..?

I immediately searched through my old 2016 and 2017 diaries, and there they were. Times when I had dreamt, written, and ultimately manifested the life of my dreams. Proof that the Law of Attraction, and manifestation, however slow and gradual, is real.

Here’s what was written in my diary on 25th April 2017:

This weekend, I took my love to my favourite Italian restaurant – Baduzzi. It must have been my fourth visit, but the handmade meatballs & pasta were still the same – absolutely delicious.

What I love about Baduzzi is that it is such a warm, cosy restaurant, that oozes elegance and sophistication. We sat in the covered courtyard outside, enjoying the sunshine and greenery without the cold & wind, and enjoyed some truly amazing cuisine. My highlights were the hapuka bolognese with crayfish broth, braised lamb meatballs, and Italian rosé from Sicily. My partner chose the wood-fired flat iron steak tagliata with creamed potato and rocket, and for dessert, we shared the tiramisu which was the perfect combination of sweet & creamy, bitter & crunchy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch date, and I’m thrilled to have re-visited the best Italian restaurant in Auckland. If you’re looking for delicious, authentic Italian food, I’d highly recommend Baduzzi!
