Manifesting My Dream Life

Hi friends,

I hope you’re all having a fantastic week! Mine has been wonderful, following a weekend at the Cherry Blossom Festival in the Waikato, then going to a friend’s cosy birthday dinner. We also visited my partner’s parents – where, much to my joy, I got to take some beautiful cherry blossoms home. Our house now feels very special and sentimental: handmade candles made by me, a handmade wooden shelf made by my partner, and homegrown cherry blossoms from his parents. I even bought some pohutukawa flowers to decorate and I couldn’t be happier!

This Monday was absolutely perfect. My day was nothing special, but consisted of everything that is, for me, synonymous with simplicity, joy, and pure bliss:

I woke up mid-morning, around 10am. I ate a real breakfast, admired my fresh flowers, and worked on my photography. I went out and picked up new candle jars & fragrances, then shopped for organic food & essential oils.

In the evening, I came home to realise that I was living the life I had always wanted – and that I had manifested it all.

Let me explain. When I got home, my heart was feeling so full that I remember wishing I could bottle up some of my happiness and save it for a rainy day. I was recalling all the things that had made my day so wonderful, when something hit me: it somehow sounded very familiar. Could it be..?

I immediately searched through my old 2016 and 2017 diaries, and there they were. Times when I had dreamt, written, and ultimately manifested the life of my dreams. Proof that the Law of Attraction, and manifestation, however slow and gradual, is real.

Here’s what was written in my diary on 25th April 2017:

This weekend, I took my love to my favourite Italian restaurant – Baduzzi. It must have been my fourth visit, but the handmade meatballs & pasta were still the same – absolutely delicious.

What I love about Baduzzi is that it is such a warm, cosy restaurant, that oozes elegance and sophistication. We sat in the covered courtyard outside, enjoying the sunshine and greenery without the cold & wind, and enjoyed some truly amazing cuisine. My highlights were the hapuka bolognese with crayfish broth, braised lamb meatballs, and Italian rosé from Sicily. My partner chose the wood-fired flat iron steak tagliata with creamed potato and rocket, and for dessert, we shared the tiramisu which was the perfect combination of sweet & creamy, bitter & crunchy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch date, and I’m thrilled to have re-visited the best Italian restaurant in Auckland. If you’re looking for delicious, authentic Italian food, I’d highly recommend Baduzzi!

Today I visited a lovely vegan friendly cafe in Mt Eden by the name of The Midnight Baker. For the first hour or so, I enjoyed a good book while enjoying the cafe’s famous Freedom Loaf – a wholesome seeded bread high in protein, fibre & good fats – with spiced cookie almond butter, and a warm turmeric latte. Deceived by how little the toasts looked, I found them incredibly filling & nourishing! When my friend joined me for lunch, we had the red velvet latte, an Earl Grey tea, toasted banana bread and deconstructed ‘pulled pork’ tacos.

The ‘pulled pork’ part? It actually consists of jackfruit adobo, salsa, slaw, and an amazing vegan aioli I mistook for sour cream. (It was so delicious I asked for extra aioli.) The warm, rustic decor of the cafe along with wooden furniture & greenery added to the homely atmosphere. I’m happy to have found a spot perfect for healthy & natural food, or even simple, cosy mornings with a good book and a warm latte.

PS. My experience was made even better by the fact that the cafe was playing this song during my visit. Rest in Peace Mac Miller. ❤

Delicious brunch and sunshine is definitely my favourite way to spend a Sunday morning. Last Sunday, my partner, future sister-in-law and I had a psychic moment when we all decided on the same cafe at the same time: Honey Cafe in Takapuna! The gorgeous beachside suburb is one of my favourite places in the world, so today I’d love to share with you my thoughts on just one of their amazing eateries.

Being Happy & Grateful in the Here and Now

Last week, I learned something profound: how to be immensely happy & grateful; right here, right now. For someone who is prone to beating themself up for past mistakes or worrying about the future, this was life changing.
