This weekend, I took my love to my favourite Italian restaurant – Baduzzi. It must have been my fourth visit, but the handmade meatballs & pasta were still the same – absolutely delicious.

What I love about Baduzzi is that it is such a warm, cosy restaurant, that oozes elegance and sophistication. We sat in the covered courtyard outside, enjoying the sunshine and greenery without the cold & wind, and enjoyed some truly amazing cuisine. My highlights were the hapuka bolognese with crayfish broth, braised lamb meatballs, and Italian rosé from Sicily. My partner chose the wood-fired flat iron steak tagliata with creamed potato and rocket, and for dessert, we shared the tiramisu which was the perfect combination of sweet & creamy, bitter & crunchy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch date, and I’m thrilled to have re-visited the best Italian restaurant in Auckland. If you’re looking for delicious, authentic Italian food, I’d highly recommend Baduzzi!

Food | The Midnight Baker

Today I visited a lovely vegan friendly cafe in Mt Eden by the name of The Midnight Baker. For the first hour or so, I enjoyed a good book while enjoying the cafe’s famous Freedom Loaf – a wholesome seeded bread high in protein, fibre & good fats – with spiced cookie almond butter, and a warm turmeric latte. Deceived by how little the toasts looked, I found them incredibly filling & nourishing! When my friend joined me for lunch, we had the red velvet latte, an Earl Grey tea, toasted banana bread and deconstructed ‘pulled pork’ tacos.

The ‘pulled pork’ part? It actually consists of jackfruit adobo, salsa, slaw, and an amazing vegan aioli I mistook for sour cream. (It was so delicious I asked for extra aioli.) The warm, rustic decor of the cafe along with wooden furniture & greenery added to the homely atmosphere. I’m happy to have found a spot perfect for healthy & natural food, or even simple, cosy mornings with a good book and a warm latte.

PS. My experience was made even better by the fact that the cafe was playing this song during my visit. Rest in Peace Mac Miller. ❤

21st Birthday | Nilesh

I had such a fun time shooting Nilesh’s 21st birthday party last night. Held at Kelston Community Centre Hall, I LOVED the beautiful backdrop & decorations the family had thoughtfully set up on stage and at every table, the creative games throughout the evening, the awesome MC who hosted them, and the colourful attire everyone wore.

The moment captured in the last photo here is my highlight. During the final round of musical chairs, the girl on stage sat on the chair first – but fell! The guy then quickly grabbed the chair, while helping the girl up. An unexpectedly hilarious moment.

Here are just some of the highlights of a night filled with celebration, family, friends, food, games and dancing. Happy Birthday Nilesh!

Hello friends, I hope you’re all having a fantastic weekend! Mine has been fun, productive and enjoyable. After spending a lovely Friday night sipping cocktails at The Lula Inn, I took my friend Jess out to Takapuna today for a portrait photoshoot. Takapuna is such a beautiful, diverse place to be – and to shoot. I love the variety we managed to get just by exploring the shops on Hurstmere Road, the restaurants by the beach, the trendy fairy-lit food alley, and more. My favourite photo is the very first one on this blog – we were walking along Hurstmere when this bright, radiant store caught my eye, and I just had to take a few shots. The peachy hues, gold floral decal, and Jess’s big smile made for the perfect photo!

We got hungry and ended the afternoon with delicious prosciutto & mushroom pizza and mixed berry & red wine sangria at The Commons. It is a cozy garden bar, and noticing a couch with cute cushions, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take some naturally sunkissed portraits. Warm and vibrant, they’re an interesting contrast to some of the light and airy photos earlier in the day.

Overall, I’m thrilled with these headshots and portraits, and it is one of those days where I feel so lucky to have made my passion my vocation. I’ve added Headshots & Portrait Photography to the services I offer, so that I can help those of you who are looking for fresh new pictures to use for your personal social media, business/corporate profiles.. Or just because!

Have an amazing rest of the weekend – and, in this freezing cold winter, stay warm & well! x

Delicious brunch and sunshine is definitely my favourite way to spend a Sunday morning. Last Sunday, my partner, future sister-in-law and I had a psychic moment when we all decided on the same cafe at the same time: Honey Cafe in Takapuna! The gorgeous beachside suburb is one of my favourite places in the world, so today I’d love to share with you my thoughts on just one of their amazing eateries.

Last Sunday was the most gloriously sunny, perfect day, one I spent eating delicious food, discovering a gorgeous new beach, and watching a movie with my love. Our day started mid-morning at Major Tom, a hot new cafe in Albany. By the same minds behind Hello Friends & Allies and Winona Forever, it featured their signature fun and vibrant style. I especially loved the artsy wall murals!

Yesterday, I had the honour of capturing lifelong memories of Ryan & Cornelia’s big day. Celebrated at Hedges Estate in Waiuku, the day was filled with endless sunshine, nature, love, and good vibes. From the early morning capturing the bridal party getting ready, to the celebrations, cake, and spontaneous mini-photoshoots that followed, the wedding was a truly magical day for all who attended. I absolutely loved capturing the warm smiles and radiant joy of the bride & groom along with their dear family and friends. Congratulations, Ryan & Cornelia! It was an honour to capture this special day for you to look back on for years to come.
